As trail runners and nature lovers we're keen to do our part to protect our beautiful planet and reduce the environmental impact of our events. As such the Speight’s West Coaster is removing disposable cups from all aid stations. Please remember your reusable cup, hydration pack or water bottle to fill up!
We’ll have collapsible silicone cups available at the event base for $5.

Given the rugged terrain on the course a cut-off time of 5.00pm will apply to all courses.
42.2km Marathon Only: Runners must leave the Constable Road Aid Station (31km) by 3pm.
Registration is from 7:00am at the Bethells Estate event base (start/finish line).
If you would like to change your distance on the day, please let the Total Sport staff member know and they’ll give you a new race number/transponder for your new distance.
Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.
You can enter on event day at the ‘Late Entries’ tent at the event base - unless sold out! Cash is the preferred payment method but we will accept credit cards and Eftpos (processed on the Tuesday after the event).

The opportunity to have a designated site at the finished line (6mx3m) for post-event celebrations.

To enter your group contact firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to all pay together we will send you a special entry code which each team member will use to enter themselves online into their chosen distance at no cost. Total Sport will then invoice you for the full team amount.
If you would like to pay individually, we’ll apply a discount code for each team member to receive the 10% discount.
GROUP PACKAGE TERMS & CONDITIONS
Team entries must be completed three weeks before the event. You will be invoiced by Total Sport on this date - Payment must be received two weeks before event.
From Auckland Central drive time is approx 45 mins, but give yourself a little extra time if you aren't familiar with the area.
If using Google Maps the address is 280 Bethells Road. However, be aware there is patchy cell reception once you get near Bethells so perhaps ensure you have your route mapped already!
Prize giving is at the event base, and will kick off at 2:00pm with trophies awarded to the over-all race winners, male and female, for each event. We hope many of you will hang around and enjoy the day until prize giving time!
All event distances will also receive a beautiful finishers medal!
CHANGE YOUR REGISTRATION
EVENT REFUND & WITHDRAWAL POLICY
As per the registration waiver there are no refunds if you withdraw from this event. We do offer credits which last for 12 months and can be used towards any Total Sport event in that time, minus a $15 admin fee. Please email us at email@example.com if you wish to withdraw from the event before online registrations close.
In the very unlikely event that we are forced to cancel an event due to bad weather, there will be no refunds available.
Transfers from one person to another within the event will be possible with an administration fee of $15. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have someone you wish to transfer your entry to, we will then provide them with a promo code for the remaining value of the entry for them to enter online.
You can change distances prior to online registrations closing. To change your distance, open your confirmation email and click to amend. This will take you to your portal. If you can’t locate your confirmation email, please email us at email@example.com and we’ll resend it for you.
It is also possible to change your distance on the morning of the event, the staff in the Registrations tent will be able to help you.
There are no partial refunds if downgrading.
Depending on the weather/forecast for event day, a call will be made by event staff on Thursday as to whether we will be implementing the below options for the competitors in the 42.2km. This will be communicated to you before race day, but plan to need it all, and leave out the items not required if that call is made (Final decision to be made and communicated on event morning).
Option 1: Nothing
Option 2: Seam sealed jacket
Option 3: Long sleeve top (polyprop or wool), beanie (polyprop or wool), survival blanket, seam sealed jacket.
While some of this gear may seem excessive, we ask you to bring it for your safety. You may not need it while you are running or walking but if something happens and you have to stop you will need it. The event is on very exposed, rugged country and it can be very cold if you have to stay in one spot.

The ratings below are the minimum experience level required to participant in each specific event:
6km run/walk - First time
11.5km run/walk - First time
21km run/walk - Intermediate
42km run - Intermediate
Should you encounter an incident on course, please follow these steps:
STOP – do not place yourself in danger
Try to communicate with the person
Assist with basic first aid if you are capable and can do so safely
Send the next participant through to notify the next event official of the situation and location of the incident
Stop the next participant and request assistance if required.

At Total Sport we have been using the safety services of Peak Safety for quite some time now – they really are top shelf! They have been in operation since 1996 (1 year longer than us!) so have a massive amount of experience to draw on; this combined with their absolute passion for the outdoors and everything safety really does make for a winning combination.

OUTDOORS MARK CERTIFICATION
We always complete the 3-yearly comprehensive safety audit to keep our Outdoors Mark Certification current.
Although this is not compulsory for us as we aren’t classed as an ‘adventure activity operator’, we do it voluntarily to make sure we keep our most important asset (YOU GUYS! 😊) as safe as we can!
